Campaign Story
After being in the United States for about 5 years I finally realized what I want to do with my life. I found a perfect place in Colorado and met amazing people who are my friends. I got accepted to the Fort Lewis College in Durango. It is the best place I've ever lived in and I really love it here. This is my third degree that is going to be Psychology and then I am planning on going to the Denver University for my Masters in Social Work. With my previous degrees in economics and business management, computer science and, after completing education at Fort Lewis College, psychology and social work I will be able to finally get a work visa and be able to stay in the United States. In order for me to be able to continue my education next semester I need to make sure that I have no debts this semester. Unfortunately my dad who provided me with financial support got cancer and is in a hospital now. The money that was supposed to cover my education this semester is no longer available since my family needed to pay for the treatment of my dad. I did everything I could to make sure that I will be able to pay for the next semester myself. I got a job as an RA (Residential Assistant) at the Fort Lewis that will pay for my housing and food. I also got a job as a SOL (Student Outdoor Leadership) member on campus and that will help me pay some of the tuition cost. Besides that I applied for some scholarships that will also cover some of the tuition. Next semester with the beginning of the cross country running season I will be able to prove myself as a great athlete and I am hoping to get some athletic scholarship. All in all I found sufficient resources to pay for the next semester. However, I still can't register for my classes since I have a debt for this semester and my family is not able to help me pay for it. The only way out for me now is to ask for help people I know and people who care about me and want me to achieve my goals and stay in this country. If I don't find enough money I will have to leave for Russia and that will be devastating for me. I would appreciate any help.

It is unfortunate you did not make richer friends, Yury but let those friends that you did make do what we can. Hope our country gets to keep you - god knows we'd be better off for it! :) Cheers, ~Brett
