The elephant in the african savannah is killed every 15 minutes for its ivory tusks. According to Dr. Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick, conservationist and expert in animal husbandry, the african jumbo will have faced extinction in 12 years. We need to help conserve our nature and what best describes african heritage: the beautiful animals only found in the tropics. Having lived in the US for 8 years, I decided to go back home to Kenya and what I saw was astonishing. The elephant population had drastically reduced from what it used to be before. I therefore intend to raise money to help raise awareness in protecting the elephant. This will include going to the locals and educating them the need of conserving these wonderful animals. Some of the money will also be used to move the animals to an animal orphanage. Together Elephants can live!
