Samantha’s Surgery Fund

Samantha is a 5 year old mixed breed in need of surgery. She has a torn left knee ligament and severe hip dysplasia in her left thigh. Samantha takes Metacam daily for the pain, but she still limps a little. I would like to get her treated by mid-June for the latest.

The knee surgery will cost R16 000 to R20 000 (~$1400), and the hip surgery R8 000 to R10 000 (~$600), according to the veterinarians I've already consulted. The funds raised here would be used to pay for those surgeries. I am looking to get a loan to have the surgery done by mid-June. It is a little difficult though as I am a student without any regular income, I get part-time jobs.

I met Samantha 5 years ago walking home from the shop getting bread. I had stopped to change my music or something and nearly tripped when I started walking again. A little puppy had ran in between my legs. She was using me as shelter from the cold wind.
As I walked, she kept running in between my legs and followed me all the way home. She refused to go away when I shooed her.

When I saw her by the porch light, she was massively malnourished. She had barely any fur on her and was covered in ticks and fleas. I had to give her some milk and steamed chicken to eat. My mother and I then spent more than 3 hours that night grooming her. She has repaid that affection more than we deserve.

(As a mild brag, Sam's fought off muggers three times. Once when a friend was attacked, and twice when my brother decided to take a midnight stroll in my neighborhood.)

It is for that, and the many times she has ignored her food bowl to be petted by me, that I am sincerely indebted to her and love her.

I would sincerely appreciate your help in aiding me fund her surgery.

The funds will be used to pay for her surgery, I promise to post the bills for all to see after the surgery. In addition, any and all leftover funds will be donated to other animal fundraisers.
