Therapies For Children & People with Disabilities

The Saint Ana Organization for Helping Children with Developmental Disabilities and People with Disabilities is a non-profit organization that has been operating for 13 years in Lobor, Croatia.

We provide occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, and sensory integration therapies and we organize various useful workshops for users from the entire Krapina-Zagorje County. We provide therapies without waiting lists, which are FREE for all our users and without visits to institutions of a similar type in places that are about 50 kilometers away for our 110 users.

We conduct about 5,000 individual therapies a year, but the needs are far greater because the number of users who need our therapy is increasing, and the current capacities are too small.

In addition to physical, occupational therapy, speech therapy, therapeutic swimming, and sensory integration, the organization Saint Ana implements projects of personal assistance services and teaching assistants, and has 36 employees. Social evenings, socializing through sports, charity concerts, various dates and occasions are organized.

As we do not have our own space, we hold therapies in the municipality building. Due to the financial difficulties of the parents, the cost of therapy, the distances of similar institutions, some are not available these therapies.

As we are a non-profit organization, our funding depends on projects and tenders of ministries, local and regional administrations and donations from citizens.

Since the beginning of April 2022 the EU project, through which we financed the salaries of cabinet employees, is coming to an end so we are forced to seek funding because we have no other sources of income. A new EU tender for which we could apply for the continuation of the work of our cabinets has not yet been announced.

We hereby turn to you for help, and if you are able to participate and help us with a donation to provide the part we lack for the salaries of occupational therapist, phonetician and physiotherapist who conduct daily therapies with children with developmental disabilities and people with disabilities.

Across Croatia, many children with disabilities still lack access to therapies and other services they need to develop and thrive.
