Campaign Story
This is not an easy thing to do but we are in a position where we could really use the help of those around us. In 2020 we lost the matriarch of our family, our mother was the rock that Alistair and I relied on and the one with the plan.
We are a small family and our mother was the dominant bread winner, our father is unfortunately not closely involved anymore. I personally left my previous job when my mother fell ill with bone-marrow leukemia and joined her in her small business so I could be there and help her though the difficult times. I was very close to her at the time and unfortunately not only lost my mother but also my primary income and job security when she passed.
My younger brother and I wasted no time and started our own business in the wake of her passing, a way to keep us going as we dealt with the estate and wrapped up her affairs.
Unfortunately the estate process has not gone to plan, we are now into our second year and the costs have just been adding up.
We have as a result had to make the decision to sell our family home and say goodbye to the Dickerson residence, something neither Alistair nor myself wanted to do so soon after losing our mother.
It boils down to the fact that we require assistance with 3 things to be able to conclude the estate:
1. To settle the shortfall of our mothers bond, currently sitting at R60 000.00
2. To relocate our family furniture and heirlooms to a safe location so we can sell the house and settle all debts around the house.
3. To relocate myself and our mothers Animals into another home so we can process the sale as quickly as possible without issues around occupation.
It goes without saying that any support would be beyond appreciated, we can also commit to returning all donations once we have concluded the sale of the house, we just need some help through this process and have no where else to go.
In memory of my mothers spirit and personality we will also be sending a small potted Spekboom to all donors.
