Hello, I'm Zach and I am currently a student at Peninsula Catholic High School in Newport News, Virginia.  I first started running in 6th grade when I joined the cross country team, although not entirely by my choice.  I hated running for the first few weeks, but then I realized that it really wasn't so bad after all.  Now I am in high school and love to run, with a 5K pr of 20:25.  I enjoy running with my team on just about every trail in Hampton Roads.  So in 2012, I went to a conference, and the mission there was activewater.  When I heard that I could help other people just by doing one of my favorite activities, I thought it sounded like the best thing in the world, but I just wasn't sure that I could do it.  And then I went to this cool thing called Least at my church, which addresssed the issue of water, and the same guy was there from the conference earlier.  It was that extra push that I needed to get started.  So far my goal is to do the Race against the Odds on March 23 at Sandy Bottom.  I plan to do many other races in the future and will post updates when I know what these will be.
