Rodrigo’s Funeral, Burial and Hospital Expenses

I am Rockquel, son of Rodrigo a loving and caring father to his family who loved cooking our family meals. His love for cooking was one of the reasons why he choose to set up a food business. My father was 63 years old when he suffered a heart attack. We rushed him immediately to a hospital. Unfortunately, due to coronavirus pandemic he was refused health care in public hospitals which were full and had to be taken to a private health facility. They informed us that my father had a vein rupture so he had to be sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After a few days he passed away. With the great grief over the loss there was another difficulty. The financial cost of the private health facility has placed a huge burden of debt upon us.

The sum of hospital bills was so big that it was equivalent to roughly a year of my salary. The private facility has granted us a promissory note so we could still have a ceremonial wake and funeral for our beloved father. The health care bill has far surpassed our capability to financially cover the bill and still meet the requirements of our daily needs. We run a small local business which has also suffered at the hands of this pandemic. Due to the hardship the amount of wages earned is barely enough to cover our day to day monetary needs.

Even with our capital we still needed a financial loan to be able to have the ceremonial wake and the funeral. Although my father was insured with Philhealth the payout was nowhere near the amount needed to cover the medical expenses themselves. The remaining balance of our hospital bill is 186,466.34 PHP and the loan received is 100,000.00 PHP. We have also reached out to government agencies and politicians who have a medical-related program. Unfortunately they were only able to give us small amounts of money which barely help with this financial burden. So now I reach out and ask all who read this for your assistance to help relieve this financial hardship my family has been left with. I am grateful for any amount you can help with.
