River the Little Dwarf Horse

Hi my name is Yolande Bezuidenhout.

I take in miniature horses in need and rehabilitate them. Unfortunately my one mare gave birth to a little dwarf. We called her River Crystal. Only 32cm in hight her legs are extremely crooked. Her little lungs were filled with fluid and I knew it would be a long road if she lives for more than 24hours.

Little River had a extremely difficult 4 months behind her. She battles to walk.

All our attempts failed. A orthopedic doctor jumped in and tried to help. Unfortunately they couldn't build someting strong enough and soft enough to stilt her legs. Our vet did her xrays for free to give us a better idea of her condition.

We recieved shoes from USA that The Peeps Foundation sponsored her. They helped many dwarf horses and continues to do so.

We need specialised glue and workmanship from our farrier to fit them and that would cost us around R1500 every 4 weeks.

Please help us to give this little fighter a better chance to a happier horsey life were she can walk and run!
