I am Louise Renicks and I am Glasgow Commonwealth Games Champion 2014, u52kg at Judo. I am now in the process of qualifing for the Rio Olympic Games 2016. For this dream to be fulfilled I have to self fund numerous judo competitions and camps. I am on the Great Briatin Squad ranked Number 1 ( britishjudo.org), Scotland squad ranked Number 1 (judoscotland.com) and I am ranked number 29 in the World (eju.net). I am supported with National coaches, sports science and full medical support. As judo is a minority sport I rely heavily on working in schools on a weekly basis, local sponsorship and local club help and support for funding. From October 2014 to December 2014 I have 6 Judo events, 3 world cups, 2 Grand prix and 1 Grand Slam. Each one of these events will be attended by olympic competitors, as every athlete in the world is now competing to qualfy for Rio 2016. I have to move 15 places in the world ranking to make another one of my dreams come true. This is estimated to cost me £10,000 pounds. I am a full time athlete who is part of the national training squad. My training facilities are based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I train 6 days a week, twice a day, working in between sessions to help fund my Judo. I am a hard working, passionate, determined and self motivated athlete, who gives back to my sport at every opportunity. I believe in helping others and promoting healthy living.
