REVERSING GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY RESTORING CAROLINA’S HEALTH

My name is Aramis Gutiérrez from Caracas, Venezuela, the one setting up the fundraising application before GoGetFunding, for the benefit of my lovely wife Anneris Carolina Guaramato Diaz (Carolina), who would be the final recipient. At the moment Carolina has a grave medical illness condition - derived from a gastric bypass surgery performed to her around 5 years ago, on Nov 16 of 2015 that needs to be attended with urgency.

After such intervention, unfortunately, she has gone through an endless uncomfortable, painful, and costly upheavals, firstly of an excessive weight loss reaching a skinny profile of high risk (about 90 pounds) the first few 4 years; then following, a sudden increase of weight lately over the level she had at first - getting back to a bigger excess weight, due to an enhance of her “pouch” or small stomach, as part of the bypass, causing the increase of weight, but still with severe secondary effects.

Carolina gastric bypass consisted of separating away most of her stomach leaving only a small “pouch” or small stomach, where her food goes. The remaining stomach gets smaller over time since it is no longer getting stretched with food, serving its purpose in producing stomach acid and enzymes to help digest her food, but no producing the needed hormones as it should.

Omitting the enormous cost monetary, physical and psychological of this trauma and treatments, it is worth mentioning the number and variety of cycle of pills and counter pills to which Carolina is subjected daily during all these years as a minimum condition to maintain her vital functions in some way allowing her to survive. This unbearable condition and its undesirable effects keep her extremely vulnerable and confined inside the house, depriving her of any possibility of being able to lead or develop a normal life.

And, of course, we must help her to let her free from that bond – the gastric bypass, promoting a conclusive change beyond doubt, reversing it.

The unwanted side effects that lead to an unquestionable reversal of a gastric bypass are: early dumping syndrome; hypoglycemia; malnutrition; early osteoporosis, severe diarrhea; very smelly stools and flatulence; severe food intolerance and nutricional complications; and sustained nausea, vomiting or chronic abdominal pain. This Reversal means that the parts of the stomach and small intestine can be put together again. Hopefully, reversing gastric bypass offers the benefit of no longer needing daily vitamins nor the amount of pills she takes, improving the digestion with fat absorption.

At the moment, just to mention the diarrhea, Carolina my wife suffers a mix of two out of the four types of diarrhea illnesses: a DEADLY MALABSORPTIVE DIARRHEA (FATTY) ...and an IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (FUNCTIONAL). Such pathology is characterized, mainly, by a continuous severe diarrhea along with excessive nauseas and vomiting that threatens her existence, derived from the gastric bypass performed on her. Consequence of an inadequate absorption of fats in the digestive tract, stool contains excess fat and is light-colored, soft, bulky, greasy, and unusually foul-smelling.

Therefore, conveniently addressing and resolving all these complications, symptoms, and side effects of the existing gastric bypass necessarily and urgently force us to look for immediate actions to reverse it and restore Carolina's stomach to its original state. That is why we turn to GoGetFunding for help in raising money as the Crowdfunding site that best fits our personal cause and goals within the modality concept of Medical & Healing for the sake of the final recipient, in this case, the reinstatement of my wife's health, which is the crucial worry of the family.

We need to free Carolina from such illness and injury - please help me and my daughter restore Carolina health by reversing the gastric bypass that has her in imminent danger.

So, the fundraising will be used to cover all the expenses incurred in carrying out the desired surgery - staying in the Clinic an average of 6 days for continuous check-ups, plus the necessary pre- and post-operative expenses. According to the above mentioned chosen goal amount in view of the requested current budgets.

That would be our primary or immediate goal by restoring the safety of my chronically ill spouse, learning more about her condition and seeking financial assistance. To this end, we will appeal mainly to the solidarity of the international community, taking advantage of the promising resources that may be available. And our secondary objective, it is to make certain and recover our family stability that has been severely affected by this situation. In addition to healing my beloved partner, I will guarantee the integrity of our 40 years of forever lasting marriage, re-affirming us in our mutual roles.

By doing so, we will also ensure that our bariatric specialist is able to exercise their expertise to the best of their ability by recognizing; diagnosing, and performing the desired surgery, as well as minimizing and helping the target patient recover and transcend suffering.
