Conner Glass

A Gateshead boy who dreams of being a mountain bike racer has been left ‘absolutely devastated’ after his £1,000 ride was snatched by heartless thieves.

Conner Glass, 12, a pupil at Thomas Hepburn Community Academy, was over the moon to be presented with a brand new Giant Stance as an early Christmas present back in September.

But after returning to his home on Hopper Road on Thursday afternoon, the schoolboy was ‘distraught’ to discover his beloved bike had been taken.

Grandad Geoff Dunn, 65, described the bike as Conner’s ‘pride and joy’, and believes it will end up being a Christmas present for someone else.

He said: “I was really heartbroken for him as I know how much he loved it.

“We did not sleep much that night as we were really worried about him.

“Conner is a talented young lad on it – he wants to be a downhill racer and we think he could try and make a career out of it. It was a full-on competition bike.

“You could not wish for a nicer kid, but Conner has been left absolutely devastated.”

Please help Conner out and donate for this cause to give him the best Christmas ever.
