- We are pleased to inform that our dikir barat group, Panjy have qualified for the final of Mega Perdana 2016/2017 for the 2nd time since 2004. Mega Perdana is a National Dikir Barat competition organized by Singapore Dikir Barat Federation which is held bi-annually and it is the biggest event for all groups in Singapore
- Ever since our involvement with Tampines Changkat MAEC since 2006, we have been actively involved in a number of community events held by MAEC, Tampines GRC or any interest groups within the CC apart from performing in important events such as Hari Raya, Deepavali and many others.
- On top of that, we have also organized cultural events and 2 dikir barat competitions which draw big crowds to our CC to create awareness of our roles and activities with MAEC.
- With us being in the final of a national competition, we would like to request for some funds for our new costumes as we have not been having since 2011.
- This is the first time we are requesting funding as we hope that with the new costumes, it will not only serve as a motivation for our members, who are mostly youths, but with new spirit, we hope to be able to attract even more youths especially from our Tampines Changkat constituency to join our group and be part of the MAEC family.
- A funding of about $6,000is required for 25 sets of costumes for our awok-awok and 4 sets of costumes for our main singers. We have managed to source out for vendors to give us the best quote and unfortunately, there is none which can go below the amount stated above.
- As part of our appreciation in for providing us with the funding, we hope to continue our support in any community events held by the CC and hope to one day represent the CC in national events like Chingay, National Day or Gentarasa event
