Rent money stolen, I need help.

So I am the kind of person that goes to work and comes home, then does the same thing the next day. Right now I'm living with my mom and sister (dad died in April, 2014) but I'm moving within a week or so, I've been saving the money for the rent to pay the landlord within a couple days. So friday night September 26th 2014, I decided to go with some friends that night to some "clubs" I did not drink partly because I was driving also because im just not a drinker. I Enjoyed myself had a good time, did something I really never do. So I get home sometime between 2-3am and I notice my bedroom window the air condition is some what turned to the side, someone turned it so they could reach there hands inside. My dresser is right next to my window and I had $280 hidden in a sock in my dresser, It was gone. I called the police they came said they will hand it off to the detectives bureau, but most likely won't try to get finger prints or anything because there probably isnt any. They filed a Report which im gonna go and see about getting a copy of tomorrow. No matter what though im out that money and can not pay this new landlord the rent. SO I very much need help, Please someone???
