Greetings!
My name is Carrissa and I am a 37 year old artist living just outside of Seattle, WA. I was recently laid off from my job and will not receive enough money from unemployment benefits to support myself and my disabled mother who lives with me. I suffer from PTSD and as a result it is difficult for me to find a suitable job. I am currently working with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (they help people with mental illnesses and other disabilities to find employment) to find a job but this may take up to 6 months. In the meantime I am going to need an additional $500 a month to pay rent, utilities and to buy groceries. I have been denied government assistance so now I am turning to crowdfunding to help me through this difficult time.
