Campaign Story
My life is all about teaching English in foreign countries - I lived and worked in Cambodia for 2 years before setting sail for South America. I have also developed a minimal lifestyle where I don't own much, but relish in experiences with people, culture and nature. I have been fortunate to make many friends across the world with similar interests and I have done amazing things in the last few years. Currently, I am in Chile which is very expensive and simply not sustainable long-term. I have gone all out to find sustainable employment in Chile and Latin America, and have managed to survive on very little for a year now. My initial savings stretched for 8 months, much longer than I had anticipated, but I am now in dire financial straits, as many people are due to Covid. The visa process in Chile is at a standstill and I can do nothing until that is approved - likely only in a year from now... which means I cannot open a bank account and get online employment.
Of course, the global pandemic of Covid has made life much much harder - the lockdown conditions have prevented me from going to companies to teach, and so I lost many students. I am teaching Business English online part-time, but barely make my rent (I live in a hostel). I have been blessed by generous friends and family who have helped me out so that I can have a bed and food, and I would have been on the street if not for them! Covid is going to be a long-term situation here in South America, and I am desperate to relocate to a better ESL environment - one with a lower cost of living and a handle on the pandemic.
I do have an opportunity in Poland, however I do not have the funds to start up life there, and I really need help from anyone who can afford it. If I am able to receive my target, it will cover my visa fees and 2 months living costs while I start a new job and life in Poland. After researching many countries, this is my best option in terms of long-term goals and future prospects, and I will be in a more sustainable situation to support myself.
Please help me in any way that you can, to have this fresh start and continue to grow my career as an ESL instructor!
Thank you!
