Campaign Story
reImagine was launched in opposition to the mixed-use project voted by the Santa Cruz City Council in the summer of 2020. This project, which will destroy our library, displace our farmers market, kill a dozen heritage trees in order to build a new library with a 6-story parking garage, was introduced and passed, against the will of the community and under the false pretext of Measure S.
It is time to discover and prevent all activity that has not been openly discussed and approved. And it is time to consider the development and growth of our city for those who work and want to live here, and for future generations, their happiness and their planet.
Please help us grow. With your help, we plan to:
• Publish articles uncovering the truth about the various projects on the table
• Create more videos to raise awareness and public participation
• Provide a communication channel for the many organizations in Santa Cruz that work on community-based solutions.
We produce informative videos, populate our website with a ton of information, maintain a blog and a presence on social media. Please contribute to our campaign. Thank you.

It is time we moved toward each other to unite around real issues facing our town. I want a more humane, compassionate governance and city staff that works with the community rather than over the community.

You articulated the issue and solution very well. It is so nice to see a call to action that is positive and solution-driven.

Thanks for the work you're doing to bring transparent government to the City of Santa Cruz, and to promote a downtown plan that will serve the needs of people and the planet.
