Refugee Food Bank

My name is Chris Clarke and I’m a volunteer coordinator at a Food bank.

UPDATE: Since what was written below, we increased to 300 people per week, thats 100 families! With the increase in food costs and refugees still coming over the border, we need your help! Thank you to those that have already donated, we couldn't do this without you!

We have been running a food bank from a Church location, in Budapest for Women, Children, disabled people and elderly escaping the war. We feed averagely 130 people a week with groceries and hygiene items. We also operate a cafe and a crèche for when they collect their items every Thursday so the parents and grandparents can have some social time with other refugees at the cafe we provide for free for them.

The refugees are wonderful people and in the most difficult of circumstances they always try their best to be positive and to get on as best they can.

We have a great team of 25 volunteers giving their time and knowledge for free.

The location that we have is truly a wonderful space, kindly the church partnered with us and give us the space for free and also they contribute funds to our endeavours. For security reasons I can not put on here the exact location but feel free to ask should you need to.

With constant rising food costs and the need of more people needing our help, we ask you for anything you can spare to help us feed these people. We aim to be able to feed 300 people as many people are waiting to join our program but we cannot increase until we can secure more funding. Anything you can afford to donate will be greatly appreciated and I will be able to go out and buy much needed food items.
