The past several months have been a complete nightmare and the past week a living hell. To make a long story short, last year I fell behind on bills after my wages were garnished as a result of defauling on a student loan. I lost my apartment, then was forced to move in with my parents. For the past year I've been sleeping on a sofa in the living room, living out of an overnight bag and a pop up closet. My son sleeps in my childhood bedroom so he's fine.

So for over a year my wages were garnished. I paid off the 15k garnishment. I was relieved but overwhelmed with even more debt. Not even a month later, another creditor froze my bank account and garnished my wages.

I am employed as an LPN. A goal of mine is to complete my RN degree. That dream is on hold since I fell behind on my monthly payment plan for the online RN program I was enrolled in until two months ago.

This is where it gets real bad.. A week ago after 20 weeks of being basically penniless, my son throws my $1300 cashed paycheck in the trash accidentally as we were vacuuming out my car. Needless to say, I did everything in my power to recover the money after I shortly thereafter realized it was missing, but I couldn't climb into the dumpster as the garbage had already been changed. Never would I consider diving in a dumpster but sometimes it's necessary to do such a farfetched thing. So as a result, I lost my computer, ring and missed my other defaulted student loan payment which had to be paid on time in order to participate in the rehabilitation program.

Now after I couldn't imagine life getting any worse, it does.. I was driving home from work last Tuesday going 60 on the freeway when all of a sudden my car starts to overheat. I immediately tried to exit the freeway. As I exited onto a frontage road my car shuts off. No power steering, no brakes. By the grace of God I was able to navigate around a turn, barely missing a roundabout, where I thankfully slowed down to a point where I could pull my ebrake, which allowed me to narrowly miss edge of an embankment by a couple feet. I immediately opened my hood and smoke was everywhere...

So my car is toast. Catastrophic engine failure. The engine completely seized and the head gasket blew. The cost of repairing my car will cost more than it's worth and certainly more than I could ever afford.

So now I'm carless, about to lose my storage unit, cell phone and without the means to recover from this disaster.

Unfortunately my sons father isn't living up to his responsibilities as a father. He can't hold a steady job, lives off government assistance and owes me 30K in back child support. Textbook definition of a narcissist and sociopath.

Despite the harrowing nightmarish reality I live day to day, I'm trying to maintain a positive outlook. The past week has been the ultimate test of strength. I'm close to reaching my threshold for handling stress. Unfortunately my parents aren't able to assist me as my step father is unemployed after being laid off last year. He is nearing retirement age, so finding a new job had been difficult.

I am hopeful that someone will help me out financially to a point of where my debt is manageable for me to pay on my own. I value my independence and so desperately dream of moving out on my own again.

What I am hoping is to raise enough money to pay off my defaulted student loans, so I can finish my RN degree,  get caught up on my storage unit fees, purchase a cheap used vehicle to get me to and from work. Long term I hope to rebuild my credit and have a fresh start on life

Thank you for your support in helping me escape this nightmare
