Hello! My name is Claudio Albamonte, I am 27 years old and I was studying in Japan through a scholarship funded by the Brazilian government (a program called "Science without Borders" which supports university students to study abroad).

Life, sometimes, seems that want to test us...

Apparently, a happy life and without many problems, but as in many families there are always difficulties that seem to complicate our happiness.

After nearly two years battling cancer, my mother passed away on April 4 of this year when the cancer has spread to several organs. It originated in the intestine, and after metastasis was diagnosed, spread to the liver, lungs and brain. I got back from Japan in time to be able to spend the last three weeks next to my mother.

For 19 years my father worked at Petrobras (Brazil's largest oil company and one of the world's largest), but with the current corruption scandal and the crisis in the Brazilian economy he was fired in late July (in approximately 40,000 layoffs to reduce cost).

The reason for this campaign:

Despite all these difficulties, we continue moving forward and fighting for better conditions. However, unfortunately, it seems that bad things like to happen together...

On October 6, a gas cylinder exploded in the kitchen of our house, which consequently led to fire. I had returned to Japan to complete my course after 1 month my mom has passed away, my sister and my father we were not at home that morning, but unfortunately, my grandmother and our pet dog could not get out in time and died charred.

We lost everything. Our car, our clothes, our electronics, our memories, our house... and the worst part, that can never be replaced, another family member and our puppy. Material possessions can be replaced, people cannot. This year, three loved ones have left us.

What we will do with money donated:

Without knowing what to do to help my family I discovered the existence of these funding sites, and with it, some hope emerged. In fact, I have no exact idea of the total value of everything we have lost; I just know that was a lot. More than we could recover alone. Therefore, I decided to ask for help with a value that was enough just to build a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and purchase some furniture, clothes and urgent things. The rest we can achieve over time working and not losing the hope that good things are yet to come, but now we do not have a lot and we are temporarily living in the house of my uncle (I returned to Brazil to help my family).

Fearing of putting a high goal and not achieving (I do not know if the campaign is canceled if less than the goal), I put this amount so we could have at least our own place to live, even if very small. Anyway, enough to have where to start is more than enough and leave us extremely happy and confident to move on.

That Christmas and New Year approaching bring prosperity and good things to us all!

The reason I just put the end date in Christmas is that I want my family to never losing hope and happiness; and that a so special date will be the mark of a new prosperous and better journey.

I want my family to start the year believing that we can move forward, once again.

If you can help my family, I will feel eternally grateful. If you cannot, I appreciate the same.

I pray for the happiness of everyone and that only good things will happen in everyone’s life.
