Reassignment Surgery

I have a friend that is a F to M transgender. He is 100% male but was born in a female's body. He is wanting to have a sex change operation in december so that he can legally marry his fiance of 5 years. He feels like this is the only way to actually be able to marry her. The operation is $5,000. People are very oppositional to him and are making it almost impossible for him to raise the money. I am in school for social work and I am always looking out for oppressed people. I hope that by getting the word out people can see that he really deserves this. Please help. Any little bit at all will help.
