Raising money for the waiters of Java

To our beloved customers

As you know the Covid-19 pandemic has affected many people and industries across the world. The effect that this has had on restuarant workers across the world has been devastating. Sadly, the effect of the pandemic on South African restuarants has been no different.

As waiters of Java Bistro, in Stellenbosch, we have relied on your support through tips and gratuities. Your contributions have made sure that we sustain ourselves and our families.

In a trying time like this, we are appealing to you again to assist us. Since the lockdown started on the 26th of March 2020, we have not been able to work. This meant that we were unable to meet our financial needs to pay for rent, food and utilities.

While we love our jobs, we also know that it is very important for us to self-isolate and thus not work. We are looking forward to when the lockdown is over so that we can serve you our famous meals with our exceptional service again.

We are currently twelve waiters who are in need of donations. Some of us are contract workers who have not received our monthly salaries, while some solely rely on tips and gratuities and a small commission earning. By appealing to your generosity, we are hoping that your donations can make a difference, no matter how big or small.

All donations will be given directly to us - the waiters.
