Raise the barn

Jenness Farm is a small dairy farm located in Nottingham, NH. We make the BEST goat milk soaps and body care products. We have a small beloved herd of very spoiled goats consisting of several breeds. Our goats are hand milked twice daily, and our products, like individual pieces of art, are created in small batches, with all-natural ingredients. We also have a horse, two donkeys, a turkey, peafowl, about twenty chickens, a male goat, two guinea fowl and two bunnies! They all have names and are all part of the magic that is Jenness Farm! **Since starting this campaign, we rescued a 40 year old donkey named Bobby and a 35 year old pony named Thunder who were a bonded pair headed to slaughter!**

We are constantly getting inquiries about product-making classes, field trips to tour the farm, day camp/educational programs, and taking in/rescuing animals that need to be re-homed. As we try to look ahead to the endless possibilities, we are also looking to you, our followers, friends and patrons for your help. At this time, our barn is at capacity and there is one full-time and two part-time people here. We have already invested in the beginning of the improvement of the lower end of the property for the creation of the barn and pasture areas. The plan is to move the goats out from under the shop and build a new, larger barn with pasture and "play space" with a climbing structure to provide the animals with more stimulation and exercise. In addition, we will incorporate an all purpose classroom above the barn and a small outdoor classroom area for classes/camp and tours adjacent to the new barn. This will also open up the opportunity for college internships, volunteers, etc. Our intention is to host field trips with school and civic groups, summer day camps and any educational opportunities that we can offer. We just LOVE to educate children about the importance of farming and everything that goes along with it, especially respecting and appreciating animals, and our environment. As you know, our animals have a great life here, and we would love to open our doors to other animals who are less fortunate, and provide them with the loving home they deserve.
