Rainbow’s health recovery

Rainbow came to us in September 2018 from a local Shelter. She was abandoned by previous owner to be out to sleep with AVS. After two months of observation she was recused by VFA. We took her within 24 hours at the shelter. She was estimated to be 8 years old than. 18 September 2018, Rainbow joined our family officially.

Since 4th April 2021, Rainbow our 11 year old Jack Russell Terrier has been rushed to emergency for swelling of her hind leg, tummy and heart. She was found to be having fluid in between her heart and heart lining. She will pass if drawing the fluid was not done. We were met by the statement made by the first vet “if you don’t have $10k it’s better to let her pass”! At that time we couldn’t get angry and was confused, we just wanted to do what we can and we told the vet to proceed. The 24 hours, from visiting the vet to surgery to night care at hospital cost S$3.7k. From advices by other pet owners who’s pet had similar conditions, we transferred her to another hospital which has a heart specialist. Rainbow was there for five days. Fluid test which the first vet did not provide was done by second vet, ultrasound, blood test and varies other tests, the bill came up to S$2.3k. We thought these are the bulk cost but no...

Yesterday (20April 2021) Rainbow needed another surgery to drawn out fluid for the second time which cost S$1.25k. We were able to bring Rainbow home today to build her body as she has lost 600grams. She weigh 3.6kgs before surgery. Due to her petite size, the vet needs to perform CT Scan which will cost S$4.2k and the surgery to the finding will be between S$5k to S$8k.

We engaged an Animal Communicator to “speak” to Rainbow. Our old girl is a fighter! She tells us to stay positive and she will fight to the end!

I am shamelessly asking for help. As I’m jobless now, I do not want to give up this old girl due to financial difficulties. We have two other recuses to take care of as well and I’m not going to give up!
