I am a 3 time surviving cancer mum of 2 beautiful kids. I am desperately in need of funds to pay for a bone marrow transplant as well as relocation cost as I had to move to Cape Town for 6 months. Please assist as I need to raise at least R500000 in order for my life to be saved and to return healthy to my kids.
I was initially supposed to stay in cape tow until the end of March. With my brother not being a donor and with no match on the donor database, my Dr’s, toghether with me and my family had a chat. My Son and My Daughter has been tested. These tests works out to around $1500 (R15000) for both kids. I We have not yet paid this money in, because we simply do not have that amount of money. I have also asked that I be transferred to a hospital closer to pretoria for treatment. I’m going to be going a month without treatment or transfusions, until I get to see the dr in Pretoria. So right now, our pressing need is to pay for these blood test. 2nd expense: Relocating to Pretoria. $1000 (R10 000) Pre transplant neccessties which include, toiletries specified by transplant unit, pyjamas, undies, gowns, towels. $1500 (R15000)
Seeing new dr on the 21st of January and cost estimate is $300. (R3000). I do not have funds available on medical aid as my oncology benefit is an amount of R400000 and it runs from October to October and that we have only around R10000 left as a chemo benefit. don’t know what life holds, but I do know that I need a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. Please help me by assisting us in raising at least the kids lab results money- $1500 (R15 000) Dr expenses of $300 (R3000) relocating expenses $1000 or R10 000. Pre transplant personal neccessties $1500 or R15000 Total needed in the next few weeks is $3000 (R30 000) So just to get through the next few weeks my family and I, are asking you to open your hearts and donate at least $50 or whatever you can afford. In doing so you are giving a mum a fighting chance, you are giving a husband his wife back and most importantly you are giving my two kids their mum back
I awoke this morning full of gratitude. I would like to thank those who have started contributing to my cause. We have raised $70. In order to cover all my medical bills, including my 15 year old son, who will most likely be my donor, traveling expenses, accommodation and food, we need to raise at least $70 000. Every little bit helps. I am eternally grateful.
I'm an almost 37 year old mum. I have been blessed with two wonderful children. My Mum, husband and family are my reason for living, my reason for being.
My 8 year nightmare started on the 01st of October 2010. In the middle of my final year of undergraduate Business and Commerce Studies, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. With the love and support of my family, the expertise of my Dr's and most of all with God's grace I Breast Cancer. Fighting through 6 rounds of high dose chemotherapy, a Masctectomy(complete breast removal) and 6 weeks of Radiation, I rejoiced. I emerged, a stronger, more loving being. I gave more, I enjoyed more and I appreciated every moment of every day. My children became my main focus. At the age of 28 life had taught me just how much my kids needed their mum. I spent 4 years in remission.
In September of 2014, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia also known as AML. My blood had 85%of blast(cancer cells). My read blood count was extremely low and my platelets(responsible for blood clotting) was almost non existent. I got admitted emmediately, not realizing that I was stepping into a grueling 6 months of hospital stays and horrid chemotherapy. I beat this too, but I only bought another 4 years, before I relapsed and was once again diagnosed with Leukemia. This time though, I am in need of a life saving Bone Marrow Transplant. For this my mum and I had to relocate, from Pretoria to Cape Town, where my doctors are trying to find me a suitable match for a transplant. I have been separated from my kids, who are in Pretoria, with my husband, for 3 months. Upholding 2 households and mounting medical expenses have really caused us to need to start this page and appeal for help. My 15 year old son has been tested as I need the transplant desperately and we cannot find suitable donors. Searching on the international database cost approximately R100 000. Securing a donor cost another R300 000. Being 1700km away from home, paying rental and expenses in Cape Town for 6 months costs in excess of R300 000. It's sad that in order to live, I. Order to fight this disease and most of all in order to give my husband his wife back, my mum, her daughter back and my kids their healthy mum back, will cost us a million Rand. That is around $100 000. Please assist me and my family as we battle mounting expenses. Please assist in saving my life....
