YOUTH DEVELOPING THE TOWNSHIPS

This fundraising campaign is formed by Mzuvukile on behalf of Radio khaltsha organisation.Radio Khaltsha is a youth radio station that blows the minds of young people in Cape Town which operates in the bedroom. The story behind this station is very inspirational to many young people.

This radio was started by a young gentleman, Mzuvukile from Khayelitsha without any form of founding. The project views that one doesn’t have to sit back and tell himself ‘I won’t succeed in life’. Stop saying such words: ‘’my family is poor’’, ‘’I didn’t complete matric’’, ‘’I’ll rather kill myself’’ use your talent to go through life.

Currently Radio Khaltsha reaches far and wide variety of listeners within Khayelitsha and surrounding areas E.g Mfuleni,Macassar, Mitchell's plain,etc .The station is demanded by the youth of the following areas: Mandalay ,Langa ,Nyanga,Gugulethu , Kraaifontain et,through internet we reach worldwide. One of our goals is to reach heights in helping the youth of our communities, hence our slogan is "Youth Empowering The Community''. One doesn’t need to be a millionaire to pursue a dream. ‘Use what you have and live your dream’.

At the moment we're reaching out to disadvantaged communities to do educational programs and donate what we have to randomly chosen households.Our plan is to reach out to messes.

Our recent programmes :

-Motivational talk (14 June'17 ) at Bulumko High School

We strongly believed that the visitation to the school will transform the students consciousness through our motivational talks, and the fact that we have managed to start a functional radio station in a bedroom without any form of funding, this proved to learner that one doesn’t have to be a millionaire to pursue a dream.

-Child-parent gathering (16 December 17 )

The main focus of the programme was to build a strong relationship between parents and children and to motivate and help young people gain confidence. This event was intended to strongly benefit the community as well as young upcoming artists around Cape Town; however this programme was made up of various entertaining and educational activities.
