Purchasing a Motorhome for a Young Homeless Family

We first met Josh and Tyla right after Christmas. They had been living in their car for several months, traveling around the country in search of work and medical care. They have two little boys, Xeric and Canaan (2 and almost 1). Josh and Tyla are in their mid-30's now, and Josh has struggled with severe back problems over the past year. He was scheduled to have a back surgery in October, and he suffered a heart attack eight days before the procedure, so it was delayed by at least six months. He has been unable to work.

Currently, they are staying with some friends of ours nearby, but they have to be out by the end of the month because our friends will be renting out their home.

We have purchased a mobile home and two RV's for families in the past. A motorhome (i.e. a home that you can actually drive as well) would probably serve them well, just in case Josh gets a job in another area and they need to leave quickly. In the meantime, we will probably park it at a local RV park, which would be affordable for them with Tyla's part-time job as a waitress.

We have felt honored that God led these people to us, to be a positive influence on them and perhaps even get them back on their feet. We have talked with them and prayed for them many times over the past couple of months, and even some of our friends have been able to know them and help them in many ways, as well. We love these folks, and hope you will pray about whether God would have you donate toward a motorhome for them and their two small children. This should be a good fit for them at this time.

We are currently shopping for the right motorhome for them, but I wanted to start the fundraiser as soon as possible because of the urgency of the timing.
