Project Prometheus

Project Prometheus is an organization that is dedicated to helping achieve the global goal of 100% literacy, and eradicating literacy in the 3rd world. We believe that the majority of the worlds problems stem from the fact that their are so many people in the world that do not have the ability to read and or write.

Approximately 15% of the world population is not able to read either because they are denied education or because it is simply not available. This lack of access to knowledge and information limits people options in life and in today's world cuts them off from the global conversation.

Right now companies like Facebook are make amazing strides in bring internet access to the undeveloped parts of the world where illiteracy is still rampant. Meaning even if a person has access to the internet. If they can not read or write it will not matter.

Our plan to solve this problem is very simple.

1: Put at least 1 tablet in the hands of every family in the 3rd world.

2: Give them the training and education to use them.

Right now we are in phase 1 of the project. We are in the process of acquiring the tablets to load them with them with the educational apps and set them up to be able to access internet.org where available. Internet.org is Facebook's free internet program that allows tablets and other digital devices to access the internet.

Each tablet will also come with a solar charging station to allow those without power to be able to keep there tablet charged.

Each tablet will have 50+ apps related to learning to read and other educational materials.
