I don't like having to ask for help, but unfortunately I have gotten to the point where I'm not sure where else to turn. I have had many things happen in the last year and a half that have brought me to where I am today. So here is my story... I lost a small business in Nov. 2011 that I co-owned with my sister. The economy just did us in. Then I dedicated myself to taking care of my family which includes my kids, my legally-blind 85 yr old father, and my 89 yr old uncle who passed away in July. After my uncle died I then started to look for a job. It's hard for me to find a job that is willing to be flexible because I have to pick up my kids from school everyday. Where we live we don't have any busing and its too far to walk and too dangerous because we don have sidewalks. Through all of this I have been trying to put myself through college to try to help make a better life for my family. It can be quiet difficult juggling all these things, but I persevere. Then just recently my smallest dog, Giorgio,... ...jumped off the deck in our backyard and totally ripped both tendons in both hind legs. I guess they call that luxating patellas and they were torn too, and in small dogs its common to have this type of injury if he landed just the right way. He had to have surgery ASAP because he could not walk. The surgery, meds and visits totaled close to $1,800. A week after coming home from the double leg surgery, he had to go back into surgery because his right leg was bad again. This was money I had saved and I was using to help fund my college and put food on the table for my family. Additionally, I have a much older, senior dog, Bowie, who has congestive heart failure. He takes 8 pills/day and one of his prescriptions is $50 a month. Ugh, but I love my pets. They are a part of my family! <3 I would like to try to offset the cost... of what I spent on my vet bills for Giorgio and what I spend on Bowie for meds and healthcare. Im to the point where i am out of funds. I truly appreciate whatever anyone does if they are able, and I really do believe in paying it forward. So one day I hope that I will be in a position to help someone else! Thanks for reading my story.
