Project Complete My College Education

Greetings, my name is Emily and I would like to begin by thanking everyine reading my story for listening with an open heart, I've learned that sometimes even just a thought can make a big difference. I have chosen to major in Exercise Science and minor in Women's Studies. I aspire to be a weight loss consultant for children and hope to raise awareness and educate as many people as possible concerning this overlooked issue.

Since I began my college career three years ago, tuition has increased over 10,000 dollars putting a financial strain on me and my family. In an effort to lower the cost of the out of pocket expenses, it became necessary to move off campus which saved a great deal of money. Unfortunately, due to rising tuition costs it will not be enough. All donations will help with my monthly rent of $440, living expenses, books for my classes and the $14,000 for tuition that I will owe this year.

The phrase, "I can do anything I set my mind to" is a bit cliche in these situations, however, I am a true believer in these words and have learned that even before taking action your mind must be focused in order for things to go as planned. I sat down with my mother today to tell her that we could stop trying to raise the money to finish my college career at UNCC, and she simply said "No we're not." I was overwhelmed by the fear of not having enough money and the tremendous debt that has begun to accumulate. She then wiped my tears away and told me not to give up. Even if things don't work out, I know that I have given this my all and sometimes that's all that matters.
