Help us to preserve history through the creation of the incredible personal stories of Polish WWII refugees who ended up in Africa from 1942-1952. Memory Is Our Homeland, is a documentary that features my late aunt and tells the story of my father's family journey from their homeland through areas of the world they never imagined they would live in. The filmmaker, Jonathan Durand, has received grants from the Canadian National Film Board and private sources to create this documentary and is almost finished! There is just a few more steps needed to finish the film and your donations can help us offer this move to the world!
Please help us get this film over the finish line with the final editing and verification activities still needed so this untold story can reach the hearts of minds of others familiar with this story and those who are not. For a preview of the footage and more information on Jonathan, please visit: http://memoryisourhomeland.com/
"Memory Is Our Homeland is a documentary film charting the lost story of Polish refugees in Africa from 1942 to 1952 - a journey that brought a group of children through Siberia, Iran, India, and East Africa, to new lives in Montreal, Sheffield, and across the global Polish diaspora."
