Practical research for my Master’s thesis dedicated to Irish collective trauma

I am writing to express my keen interest in obtaining funding for my diploma thesis on the collective trauma of the witnesses of the Irish troubles as my Master's project for Charles University in Prague. I am passionate about exploring the psychological and sociological implications of this significant historical event, and I believe that shedding light on the experiences of the witnesses can contribute to our understanding of the lasting impact of such conflicts.

Having extensively researched the subject matter, I am fully committed to investigating the long-term consequences of the Irish troubles on the individuals who witnessed and lived through those troubled times. The testimonies of these witnesses, often overlooked in academic research, hold valuable insights into the profound effects of collective trauma on communities and individuals.

By delving into the personal narratives of those who experienced the Irish troubles, my thesis aims to capture the depth and complexity of their emotions, the challenges they faced in the aftermath, and the coping mechanisms they employed. I intend to employ a multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating psychological, sociological, and historical perspectives to provide a comprehensive analysis of the subject.

I am seeking financial support to facilitate the research process, including conducting interviews, transcribing and analyzing data, accessing archival materials, and covering travel expenses.
