In late November I watched a Frontline program on PBS called "Poor Kids". You can still watch this program online. The program told the story of three families living in poverty through the eyes of their kids. I was especially touched by two young children in Iowa, Kaylie and Tyler, and how their single Mom struggles. Hungry kids (two meals per day), struggling to hold onto a place to live, they have moved into a trailer since the program aired and Kaylie is now back in school. Kaylie collects aluminum cans and Tyler mows yards to help Mom buy groceries. I was especially touched when they had to take their pet dog to the local pound because they simply could not afford to feed him. Watching Kaylie say good bye to her pet dog was tough.

I encourage you to watch the program and then come back to this site and make a donation. I have already sent a gift to them and will send others when I can, but it is just a drop in the bucket compared to what they need. My hope is to simply raise $1,000 before the end of December just to help them get through the winter. Please help with whatever you can.
