Please help my animals’ medical bills and human oxygen rental

Please support me in getting through the next 2-3 months

I am here to ask for your support for my large animal family. I am not a charity but an individual who has been making my home to some animals who could not find any adopters for nearly 20 years. Adoptable dogs went to lovely homes but animals that I brought to my place have many problems. Some past ways and some came in. This is my life cycle.

My friends suggested to me to ask for help from cloud finding and they wrote a story for me to post.

While my father was in critical condition at the hospital in June 2023, I trusted the wrong people to put my family members at risk.

I became a victim of mortgage fraud and I have ripped HK$616000 while signing a costly mortgage plan. I showed my weakness to a scammer and a friend with whom we helped rescue animals. Then I fell into this trap and this is my fault.

I have always dealt with my finances to accommodate medical bills and daily expenses that are beyond what I could afford through re-mortgageing my place.

However, this time, it did not work. The people who have been complaining reported my roof stop house about my rescued animals for over 7 years. Our relationship became sore when I asked the basement front free area to share with me when they start planting. I buried my dog’s small amount of furs in the area, but they refused to share even a tiny bit. They started to annoy me, especially after it but I needed to protect my animals who have no place to go and I listened to their complaints always. So rooftop house is now removed. This incident brought attention to scammers and I was lured into the mess.

I have a plan to sort everything out and stand still, but one of my young dogs was born after the mother dog hit by a car developed a genetic eye problem. She lost one eyesight and is soon to lose another one, while her sibling likely loses eyesight sights thus needs to see a specialist. I am very ashamed that I could not help enough. Also, my nearly 90-year-old father has one lung thus expensive oxygen machine was newly rented upon release from the hospital last June 2023.

No matter how I work hard, medical bills become a huge burden when animals and human gets old. I raised 24 animals so far.

This is an urgent cry to all animal lovers, if not all humans…

Have you ever seen posts on social media of dogs being abandoned, probably as a result of them being old and/or suffering from terminal/chronic illnesses and ending up with nowhere to go, as most (if not all) animal shelters are full. In many cases, rescuers only have a few days to try to find them homes, but ultimately the animals are euthanized because humans are unable to find a home or space in time. You might be thinking, "Poor thing, I wish I could help, but..." Very few of them are lucky enough to find a home.

Maya Ando, a Japanese woman who has spent most of her life in Hong Kong, is one of the very few people who has adopted many of these fur babies over the years. They are either elderly with long-term medical needs or have mental/physical illnesses from previous abuse by their owners. In total, she had adopted not one or three dogs, but twenty-two, either ones she had rescued from the streets, rescued by her friends, or from deceased owners. Thirteen of them still live with Maya in the village house she bought. She received so many complaints while renting in the past that her landlords were unhappy and asked her to leave.

She is the sole breadwinner of the 13 rescued old/sick dogs and 2 cats who were rescued from similar circumstances; she also has her 89 year old father who lives with her , the father's health is also very weak. She has to hire caregiver to do daily house chores for the animals and her elderly father, and she also has to work several jobs to maintain the huge monthly bills... The fur babies alone need HK$5,500 in long-term medicine and homemade food. (to save money). Then, from time to time, some dogs need major treatment/surgery, the one going on right now is Ume (pictured), she needs one of her eyes removed, the surgery fee plus the check-up fee, the total is $30,000 plus a monthly cost of $1500 to apply eye drops daily until she becomes completely blind. Since this eye disease is hereditary, Maya's sister Matsu, who is also under the care of Maya, is likely to also suffer from this disease... This does not include her 89-year-old father's monthly medical expenses of $1,300.

In desperation, she looked for a second mortgage lender under "expert guidance" in the hope of improving her monthly balance sheet, but it turned out to be a scam and now she faces monthly repayment of up to a wopping $76,000!! Consequently, she has reported the crime to the police and by law she is not allowed to disclose further details.

This is completely beyond her financial capabilities, and what lies before Maya is... If she can't work out a repayment plan with her creditor bank soon, she will soon lose the home she owns, which will require a large amount of money to be paid in one lump sum as advance payment. This means her 13 dogs, 2 cats, her frail 89-year-old father and herself may all have to live on the streets!

Maya urgently needs to raise enough funds to pay for this one-time upfront payment, which will enable her to obtain a repayment schedule from the bank, and then she can pay it all off at an affordable monthly amount over a longer repayment period, because Maya does earn a good income, but the repayment is too hard to afford.
