Please help Željko and Ganesha Yoga centar survive difficult times

It's been nine years since the Ganesha Yoga Center has started operating in Rijeka, Croatia. We have enriched and supported the city of Rijeka in the development of healthy lifestyle and yoga. In working with people of all age groups, especially young people, about 2000 users went through our center. We learned to practice yoga, breathe, sing, dance, often in nature. Through various educational seminars, psychological, communicative and cooking workshops, we have developed creative and spiritual practices.

In today’s hectic pace of life, we often forget to take time for ourselves, to breathe and be in the moment. Our center is located in the heart of Rijeka, which allows people easy access. In the last year, we have launched a yoga school for new yoga teachers, sent young people to erasmus educations, activated a kitchen that provides free meals for all members. Regarding to the new situation related to Covid-19, we lost

financial resources to pay the rent, bills and the organization of events. The city and the mayor ignored our requests for help. As we lost 90% of our members, because of social distancing, we were forced to fire several quality yoga teachers. Asking for a deferral of rent payment to the office of the mayor of Rijeka, we received the answer that if we do not pay about 20 000 kunas our center will be shut down and hall returned to to the city. As the situation full of fear and uncertainty, our friends, acquaintances and members of the association are not able to help us.The future of our yoga center is in your hands of you.

We are deeply disappointed with the decision to close those places in Croatia with the aim of "protecting" health, especially since the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that all adults and children should engage in physical activity for the benefit and mental health in the coronavirus era. It is unfortunate that experts are canceling activities that are important for people's mental and physical health. Exercise, along with diet, is the most important factor in the quality of life and strength of the immune system. It is absurd to fight against diseases of the respiratory and circulatory systems, while prohibiting movement, inhalation of fresh air and exercise.

If you believe that this city still needs a place like this, please meet us and help us strive to continue to build a spiritually inclined community that helps others develop their potential in all aspects of their lives. Your donations would help us to continue to cultivate good energy in this city, and to unveil many visions such as the establishment of the Institute for the Application of Spirituality that would give integrity to a highly personalised support on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels in an individual’s life.

Prolazi deveta godina otkako udruga Ganesha Yoga Centar djeluje u Rijeci. Obogatili smo i podržali grad Rijeku u razvoju zdravog življenja i yoge. U radu s ljudima svih dobnih skupina, posebno okrenuti mladima, kroz naš centar prošlo je oko 2000 korisnika. Učili smo vježbati jogu, disati, pjevati, plesati, često boraveći u prirodi. Kroz razne edukativne seminare, psihološke, komunikativne i kuharske radionice razvijali smo kreativne i duhovne prakse.

U današnjem užurbanom ritmu života, često zaboravimo odvojiti vrijeme za sebe, sjetiti se da dišemo i budemo u trenutku. Naša dvorana se nalazi u srcu Rijeke što omogućuje ljudima laku dostupnost. U zadnjih godinu dana pokrenuli smo yoga školu za nove yoga učitelje, poslali mlade na erasmus edukacije, aktivirali kuhinju koja dijeli besplatne obroke za sve članove udruge.

Zahvaćeni novonastalom situacijom vezanom uz Covid-19 ostali smo bez financijskih sredstava za plaćanja troškova održavanja dvorane, računa te organizaciju događanja. Grad i gradonačelnik se oglušio na molbe mnogobrojnih nevladinih organizacija u koje se ubraja i naša. Kako smo izgubili 90% naših članova, bili primorani otpustiti nekolicinu kvalitetnih joga učitelja.Tražeći odgodu plaćanja rente uredu gradonačelnika grada Rijeka dobili smo odgovor da ako ne platimo dug od 20.000 kn da vratimo prostor gradu. Kako je situacija puna straha i neizvjesnosti, naši prijatelji, poznanici i članovi udruge nisu nam u mogućnosti pomoći.

Duboko smo razočarani odlukom da se u Hrvatskoj s ciljem “zaštite” zdravlja zatvaraju ona mjesta koja se upravo bave očuvanjem istog, time više što su ključne preporuke Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) da bi sve odrasle osobe i djeca trebali provoditi tjelesnu aktivnost za dobrobit i mentalno zdravlje u eri koronavirusa. Žalosno je da stručnjaci ukidaju aktivnosti koje su bitne za mentalno i fizičko zdravlje ljudi. Vježbanje je uz prehranu najvažniji čimbenik kvalitete života i snage imunološkog sustava. Apsurdno je boriti se protiv se protiv bolesti dišnog i krvožilnog sustava, a pri tome zabraniti kretanje, udisanje čistog zraka i vježbanja.Budućnost našeg joga centra je u rukama vas dobrih ljudi.
