Please Help Us Salvage a Happy Wedding Experience

Hi, We are Tom and Jen, we've been together nearly 10 years and engaged for 3 years. We were all booked for a summer 2015 wedding for our 10 year anniversary. Tom and I met abroad and always wanted a wedding abroad, on a beach. However, our families persuaded us to have an English wedding and promised to pay for it. My family are divorced and things have been very difficult to organise. There's been arguments over guest list...table plans...money...etc, etc. And now to top it off, they are getting cold feet about paying which would leave us in massive amounts of debt to pay for it ourselves. We wouldn't be able to afford a holiday, let alone a honeymoon for many, many years (the one thing that we wanted the most to begin with!)  We've decided to put an end to this disappointing and heart-breaking experience and cancel the wedding, even though we will lose £1500 of our own money we've used for deposits. Weddings are meant to be joyous and happy and so far we are not loving the engagement process! We've decided we want to just elope to a different country and get married, just us, having an amazing time. We need to get excited and make some new memories towards our wedding....please help us do this...the sooner you do...the sooner we can just go and make our dreams come true.
