Campaign Story
Like many, I have recently lost my job due to the pandemic. I also happen to be a regular stray cat feeder.
I feed a ginger cat who has been limping. He can never step on his left paw. He always waits patiently for me to give him the food and limps over to have some when the other cats around him have finished eating. He is so sweet but always so miserable, it is quite obvious he is in a lot of pain... I just had to take him to the vet. Turns out he doesn't even have enough skin to stitch up his injury - it's a very big, open and raw wound. It was stinking and started to have maggots. He needs to be treated and hospitalised for a month now. Without the treatment, the infection can become fatal.
Blackie is another cat that I feed everyday and he has been losing his appetite. Usually he is very sweet and friendly, but recently he started eating less, coming to me less.. Then he sneezes repeatedly and recently he couldn't breathe through his nose anymore. It made me extremely sad - I have fed him for a bout a year now and he is the sweetest stray cat in my neighbourhood. He has been getting sicker and sicker for about 2-3 months now so eventually I took him to the vet too. The vet told me he has a bad case of flu. The problem with flu in cats is that it can start going into lungs. This can be life threatening to the cat if left untreated. Potentially cat flu can also lead to blindness in cats. Therefore Blackie also has to be hospitalised for about 2 weeks now.
I don't have a heart to leave these cats to die on the street, so I took them to the vet. However, I am currently unemployed. I have been actively seeking a job but it is very difficult to find anything right now in my profession and due to my visa status. I would appreciate any donation - it would be extremely helpful to my current financial situation. The approximate amount these treatments and hospitalisation will come to is 1300. If it is less however, left over money will be donated to the Cat Welfare Society that has helped me hugely with sterilisation of multiple stray cats.
I thank you very much for your kindness during this time.
