Please Help My Vulnerable Uncle

My uncle Mike is an intellectually disabled 72-year-old who responds to people and events very much as an 8-years-old would. His sister (my Mom) is his long term Court appointed Guardian. In late 2018 a relative, from out of province, decided that he wants guardianship of Mike and has applied to the courts for a hearing to replace my Mom. We are doing everything we can to stop this relative and ensure that Mike stay with the only Guardian and family he has ever known. So far our legal costs have been staggering. Our final court date is approaching and at this point we are financially exhausted. We realize we cannot continue to do this alone and are reaching out to people who knows Mike or Mike’s family or anyone who has had to fight a similar battle. We are asking for your help to keep Mike with his Guardian.
