My son Dale is 26 years of age. He suffers with ADHD, Bipolar, PDS & Learning Difficulties, he is also deafĺ.
Three years ago he moved into a sheltered accommodation unit where if he could prove he could cook, clean and basically live independently he would be offered his own flat to move into. Dale worked so hard over a year to show staff he was able to look after himself and his finances. Eventually he was given a lovely new build one bedroom flat. He had even saved as much money as he could to furnish the flat with financial help frrom me, which wasnt easy as I am a single parent.
Everything was going so well for Dale and he was so happy and proud of his modest little home. Unfortunately that all changed when Dale became a victim of crime. He had to leave his flat and we as a family had to be moved away from the area where we lived away from family & friends due to threats of violence and intimidation. After a drawn out court case the offender finally pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years in prison. Due to Dales disabilities he has struggled to overcome what the offender put him through, but at last his confidence is returning and he is waiting to be offered a new place he can live in independently again. This is a massive thing for him.
Whilst this was all going on I became extremely ill with an unknown virus which attacked my left eye resulting in my eye having to be removed. Obviously this has changed my life dramatically meaning I haven't been able to work. This now means Im unable to help Dale financially to furnish his new flat.
Im asking if anyone can please help us with this matter to enable Dale to start an independent life again and give him some pride back.
We would be extremely gratefull for anything you could spare to go towards furniture he is going to need.
Thank you for taking the time to read the details of my campaign. With kindest regards Joanne.
