PLEASE HELP ME RAISE FUNDS FOR MY WIFE’S ENORMOUS MEDICAL BILLS

Hello. My name is Pepe, a struggling family guy from Filipinas with five children. Four of them are still studying. I opened up this fundraiser for my wife Jennifer Perey-Alas (nicknamed Yeyette) who suffered from cardiac tamponade and was operated on last February 22. She is also a breast cancer patient; she has been battling it since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her doctors suspect that her cardiac tamponade was caused by her cancer.

She is currently confined at Asian Hospital and Medical Center. Admittedly, it is one of the most expensive hospitals in our country. But her confinement there was an accident. She just went there for a check-up because she was having breathing difficulties (the first hospital she visited had no pulmonologist). She has an HMO (she is my dependent), and we were confident that it would cover the expenses. Also, we really thought that she was just having some ordinary respiratory problem. Little did we know that she was already on the brink of death when she went to that hospital. To cut a long story short, the operation was unscheduled. It was an emergency. She had to be operated on ASAP. We didn't have much choice, and I was already disoriented when I was informed about it.

So here we are now, "trapped" in that elitist hospital. She is still confined there, recovering. We haven't been informed of an exact discharge date yet, but the problem is that her hospital bill is skyrocketing. My salary is not enough especially since I am still sending four of my children to school. So far, many people have helped us, and we were able to make a downpayment to the hospital. But apparently, all that fundraising that I've been doing these past few days isn't enough. As of today, my wife's hospital bill has already reached ₱302.290,31, and that doesn't even include her eight doctors' professional fees. The funds we have with us right now is ₱280,000.

Me gustaría hacerles un llamamiento para que me ayuden con mis problemas financieros en dar de alta a mi mujer Yeyette de un hospital aquí en Filipinas. El 22 de febrero fue sometida a una cirugía cardíaca de emergencia. Los médicos detectaron que padecía un taponamiento cardíaco y podía morir en cualquier momento. No tuve más remedio que darles mi consentimiento para realizarla una cirugía cardíaca.

Yeyette también es paciente de cáncer de mama; ha estado luchando contra ello desde el inicio de la pandemia de COVID-19. Sus médicos sospechan que el taponamiento cardíaco fue causado por su cáncer.

Actualmente se encuentra recuperándose en dicho hospital. Pero su factura está aumentando cada día que pasa. A día de hoy, su factura del hospital ya ha alcanzado los €4.972,39, y eso ni siquiera incluye los honorarios profesionales de sus ocho médicos. Los fondos que tenemos con nosotros en este momento son €4.605,74.
