Please Help Me Get Back To Work! Need Sub License Help!

For a good many years of my life, up until the past 10, I was a forced family caregiver in a highly dysfunctional/abusive situation. I was never allowed to keep a job outside the home, not even in public school much and do not have friends from any of those many years! I was in and out of college and lost all my aid by 2002 as my mother made me stay out when she needed me at home for my father, brother, grandmother, and then finally for her. She also made me take out numerous loans to bring funds to the house to pay my way and help out. No one was concered for my future. I was. No agency intervened all our lives. I had no idea how to trust the next person.

Upon her death , I returned as an older adult to college. I completed my undergraduate degree in Boston with the aid of a professor who paid my way and helped get me into my first apartment. He helped me on the path to grad school, which took me to IL and NV. By 2006, I had to take an extended leave from school in NV due to my own health. I became disabled - spondylolisthesis, stenosis, bulging discs, crushed discs. I still suffer with many after affects, though able to stand, walk etc for good periods of time and can do light work. Along the way, 2006- present, I developed a few other health issues that I deal with.

I started to teach part time in 2003 while in IL in school. I continued to teach part time in Nevada and California since then, and through 2011. Due to the harsh economic times though, I have been a budget cut three times in the last three years and have no savings etc as I have moved so much in the past few years to take these teaching jobs as they have come along. I live alone with three cats that are my lifeline. I have lost one home in the past year and am trying not to loose the one I currently have.

In the past year and a half or so - May 2011 - August 2012, I have applied for numerous jobs from tutoring to after school programs, to thrift stores, temp agencies etc... there is no work here and we are the worst unemployment state in the nation at present! I have no one to turn to, ran out of unemployment , and am back on 678$ in SSI income for my disability that was aggravated trying to do some part time work at a local animal shelter. I had to take some down time and am now working with local workforce agencies who do nothing buy tell you there is no work, you are way underqualified or way overqualified and there are too many applicants even for simple care taker companion jobs. Not a lot of assistance for a single male with no family.

I am at a loss and now face loosing my home again, my car since i can not keep up gas car insurance or the new registration costs. We do not live in an area with good public transit, there is very little and none that can get me about 30 miles out to and from medical appts. I need my appts to keep myself in condition to be able to work. I am about to loose my phone and can not keep up the costs of specialized dietary needs or over the counter medications.

I am worried about being homeless in the next couple of weeks in an illegal car perhaps with three cats. The cats are older for the most part and are lifelines, considered by my doctors to be necessary and given their letters I was able to have the pet deposit waived.

A few folks helped out with the deposit and moving costs to move me to this new place in June, but it will all be gone soon. Churches, agencies etc... have no assistance for me. I would love to get working!! I would love to try to get back to some writing that might in the long run bring in some funds, but this has become critical!! Critical to this point - of setting up this stie and hoping there is help!!

I have one last thing that might salavage my life and get me back on my feet and that is a substitute teaching license. I have all the qualifications, but can not pay the 161$ fee for it. One agency will pay my fingerprint costs if I can get the fee together. I have been told by dept of education that there will be a huge need for subs and sub jobs pay 100$ or more a day. It would also then allow me to earn the funds to get my public school credentials and find work via charter or online schools in the public or private K-12 sectors. In addition, once one has state credentials, one can transfer them to other states ... meaning other states that may have more work!!

If anyone can assist, even 1$ each, and please pass this on!!!! It is appreciated more than you could possibly know!!!

I am also willing to send any donation of 15$ or more a Walmart gift card, and am glad to put my first new earnings back to folks that have helped me. Those who know me know they will receive that card!

I have spent the past decade giving money , furniture, food , clothing, blankets etc to students and student families in need. I have advocated for the students I have had in many ways, and have also even provided free room and board to the few folks in need who have been friends in the past - now those few who used my home are nowhere to be found since I no longer have access to events or passes for them. That is saddening to me.

I am hoping some good can come to me as a result of this effort !! It will not be wasted !! I will also post , email etc... once I have the funds and have my license!!! I will go through paypal and this site to find the emails to get folks gift cards!!
