Platz/Levay/Krause Family Emergency Fund

On Thursday, July 4, 2012, our seven year old daughter, Leto Platz, was struck by a car while on her scooter. She was only four houses away from our home. The driver, who only lives one street away, turned onto our street and despite hearing several people screaming at her to stop, struck Leto, who's body hit the hood and windshield and was then thrown 15 feet. This broke her left femur, severely lacerating her left ankle, and leaving her covered in abrasions and minor lacerations. 

She had surgery on Saturday the 6th to insert rods into her femur, which will come out in a second surgery in November. She has PT twice a week and she is recieving the best medical care possible. 

The problem is we have no more in our savings. I, her mother, Annie, cannot work since I am taking care of Leto's physical needs. Proceeds from the lawsuit on behalf of Leto will not be available for the family, and any settlement is closely scrutinized by the Court and nothing is done without a Court Order. So if we need to pay for anything for her care beyond medical needs, and this includes paying the car payment and rent and so on, we would have to petition the court and hope they approve. But this isn't even an option until the lawsuit concludes in several months.

In the meantime we need help covering day to day expenses while we help Leto recover from this horrible accident. If you can help us, in any way, we would appreciate it.
