I am an award-winning photographer, who has exhibited in galleries.

I am looking to raise funds for a personal project concerning families who have recovered from alcoholism. It is especially pertinent during this time of year. I was struck by a comment a friend of mine made, who was raised by an alcoholic father and married an alcoholic. She was describing the all the positive things her dad once he became sober: he would make her lunch every day for school. When a parent is an alcoholic, it affects everyone in the family. I started thinking of any of the exhibits I had seen based around alcoholism and most of them seem to center around the journalistic view of showing the negative (the parents with the messy house, things in disarray), depressing images, really. I want to show what happens when the family recovers (parents making lunch of course!, playing with the kids, taking them outings), all the positive images that bring hope and support.

You may view my web site to verify that I am professional photographer:

I am in the process of setting up photo shoots through alcoholic-help organizations.

I will need to cover the following costs for the project:

  1. Printing and Framing the photos
  2. Renting the gallery space in the Washington, DC area
  3. Advertising the show

If you believe in this project, please make a donation and I will highlight your name as a donor and give you the recognition you deserve for being such a supporter! Please help me make my dream project come true!!
