Phil & Jo need help for medical bills and relocation

In July 2013 Joni was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Spondylolisthesis. This is when the L5-S1 joint is 75-100% displaced. At the same time she was diagnosed with severe Osteoporosis, which meant her bones weren’t strong enough to hold the hardware that needed to be surgically inserted to correct her spine. After a year of treatments in Dec of 2014 she had her surgery. The surgeon was able to stabilize her spine but not to restore it back to its normal position. Meanwhile, Phil was surplused in Oct of 2014 from his job at AT&T. Phil had been with AT&T for almost 7 years. This did allowed him to take care of Joni prior to and after her surgery. He has been looking for work for 9 months and as of yet has been unable to secure a satisfactory position.

Even with insurance, which we now can no longer afford, after premiums, deductibles, out of pocket, out of network, therapy and prescriptions, we have fallen way behind.

Since Joni is unable to work due to her back, she applied for Social Security Disability in Oct 2013.We were supposed to have another hearing in Nov of this year, but the judge decided to postpone it until a time to be determined.

As much as we have enjoyed living in Joplin, there are not many jobs here that will provide for our needs. So we have been looking everywhere for a job. Phil has had many interviews and follow-up interviews, and been on the short list numerous times, but has yet to secure a position. We know that we will more than likely have to relocate when he does find one.

We would like to be able to start fresh when we do find a position, but with outstanding/ongoing medical bills and costs to relocate, that will not be possible without support. Anything you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Your thoughts and prayers are also coveted as we go through this time of change.
