Peyton White support to attend HOBY Leadership Academy

My name is Peyton White and I am a rising senior at Jackson High School in Canton, OH. Last year, I attended a life-changing Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership regional conference and went on to attend the HOBY World Leadership Congress. HOBY has really opened my eyes to the impact a life of community service can have, both personally and on the communities in which we live. The program itself is unlike anything I’ve been a part of. The character of the people involved is outstanding and serves to create an environment of positivity, enthusiasm, and overwhelming support. Honestly, it keeps me going, and I’ve become committed to keeping HOBY, and what in stands for, in my life.

This summer I have the amazing opportunity to attend the HOBY Advanced Leadership Academy (ALA) in Chicago and I’m seeking support to make that possible. As part of the experience, all participants are challenged to seek sponsors to help support the cost of the travel and conference – but first I’d like to tell you about the program. The ALA will help me to take everything HOBY has taught me and APPLY it by asking “What can I do to change the world?”. Through a social change model of leadership, I will come home from the ALA with a fully-developed action plan to bring a service project back to my school or community. I want to use my project to make an impact and this program will show me the best way to do that.

I am responsible for raising a program fee of $1,250 and approximately $500 in travel expenses. I am seeking financial sponsorship, in any amount, to assist me in getting to the Advanced Leadership Academy. No donation is too small; and will not only assist me in attending the program, but will jump start my efforts to make my school and community better places. I’m so excited to create a project that will make a difference.
