My name is Mary Alexander Samuel and I am the Chairperson of the organizing team for the Petty Coat Lane Rescue Challenge 2019. I am looking to raise a minimum of R 6 000 to help pay for the expenses that this rescue challenge incurs.
This rescue challenge is a long-founded event that has been happening annually and has become a tradition that we love. It has helped prepare medical rescue professionals for the rescue world, encouraging competency and building long lasting relationships. In previous years, when we have been able to secure sponsorship, the participants have been issued a golf shirt with the Petty Coat Lane rescue logo embroidered on the chest, upon completing the rescue challenge and a certificate.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get sponsorship for this year’s edition and that is why we need your support financially in making this event possible. Your donations would go towards acquiring the golf shirts for the participants after the rescue event.
Petty Coat Lane Rescue Challenge is a rescue event aimed at testing the tenacity of upcoming medical & rescue professionals, prepare them for the harsh realities of rescue conditions and build good teamwork in challenging conditions. It is designed to equip the participants in all aspects of rescue missions i.e. physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
During the event, the participants are required to hike 21km, navigate using map work skills, row 7km in a paddle boat, and participate in a mine rescue training amongst other things. This event incurs costs such as fuel for the boats that keep the participants safe whilst they are rowing, fuel for the vehicles that transport the participants, food during the event and accommodation for the night after the event has been completed.
Thank you in advance for your contribution. You have no idea how much it means to me and the organizing team to have your support and should you require more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
