I facilitate the pentjak silat training of Women In Silat. Pentjak silat is an Indonesia/Malay fighting art with beautiful artistic movements. I have achieved a silver and bronze medal in 2 sparring competitions held in Indonesia way back in 2005. I have been teaching pentjak silat at various institutions and recently started the non-profit Women In Silat. With the drastic cases of abuse and kidnapping of women and children we find ourselves required to up-skill our teaching. The course to be undertaken in Indonesia commences from 20 June 2020 until 18 September 2020. This will be held at UIN campus in Ciputat. The funds required would cover airfare, accommodation, living costs, training costs and purchase of required equipment for the Cape Town classes. With this training comes the responsibility to give back to the community. In hopes that this will allow Women In Silat to further its work to those females who can and cannot afford to attend sessions.
