Pam’s fight against cancer!

In September, a dear friend of mine from CU Boulder found out that her mother, Pam, has colorectal cancer. There is internal bleeding and the cancer has now spread to her liver and lungs; it has been confirmed to be stage IV cancer. As part of the action plan, Pam has had to adopt a completely different lifestyle, including a drastic change in her diet. Pam will be starting chemo treatment on 11/25/13 for the next 8 weeks in an attempt to stop the cancer’s growth and then doctors will re-assess treatment plans based on how the cancer responds. On top of having to deal with the indescribable hurdle of cancer, Ashley’s mom is dealing with this hardship without any health insurance and solely on Ashley's income as rural elementary teacher. The most inspiring part? Despite these challenges, Ashley and her mom have taken a vow that "no matter what they find, they will keep moving forward." Pam is a fighter and is determined to beat cancer for her daughter, her niece (pictured with Pam above), and her nephew.

- Pam’s diet has changed to a plant-based, sugar-free diet. Following such a strict diet can get pricey, so your donation will also help with some grocery bills
