Palu Relief Fund

Thank you for being here.

My name is Samuel and I am planning to go to Palu, Indonesia this coming December to help the locals there who are still recovering from the earthquake and tsunami which hit them on 28 September 2018.

While the Indonesian government, with help from the international community, is slowly rebuilding the region, there's still much to be done on the ground. As such, I want to help them where it's possible.

NOTE: This is an informal donation. It is not affiliated with any charity. I am working with a full time social worker who chose to dedicate his life to helping the needy around him. Therefore, it is perfectly fine if you are not comfortable to participate in this project.

What will the funds be used for?
To make everything clear, the money collected through this campaign will be used by me (Samuel) personally, along with the social worker, to buy provisions, diapers, books (for the children) and just about anything that the people, whom we are going to visit, need. As such, I'll make sure that every penny is used wisely so that our contributions can be a meaningful one.

Who will benefit from this?
During my time there, I will be visiting small villages such as those in Sigi and Kulawi which received less support as most of the relief work has been concentrated in bigger cities.

Our work will mostly focus on the children who are still recovering from the trauma of the disaster as well as the loss of their loved ones. On top of that, we will also help other groups of survivors by donating food and other necessities.

How will I know how the funds are being used?
In order to ensure accountability, I will be making an email chain with all those who donate and will be forwarding images of the work we are doing there.
