Campaign Story
There are more than 5.3 million Palestinians defined by the international community as refugees. Many live in neighbouring Jordan and Lebanon, and more than one million reside in Gaza. There, more than 10 years of blockade have led to horrendous living conditions for the whole population, with 84% of people in dire need of humanitarian aid. Children in Gaza experience unusually high rates of traumatic nightmares. Here, Omaia Ziara, 13, is pictured doing her homework by candlelight. There are often power outages of up to 16 hours a day at her house in eastern Gaza
