Pack N Pounce is a small rescue with big goals. We take in shelter pets and local pets that need a second chance.  Our rescued animals are fostered in loving homes rather than in shelter like conditions. This way we can get to know each one on an individual basis and be able to evaluate the best type of owner for each animal.  Our first year, we adopted out 37 animals, our fourth year we adopted out 370, that a 1000% increase! We are now in our fifth year and, so far, we are breaking last years record!

Our Goals:

Stop the euthanasia of unwanted animals.

Educate the public of the importance of training, neutering, vaccinations, proper housing, dental, and medical care so pets can live a long and healthy life.

Convert all Utah shelters to No Kill by reducing the number of unwanted animals.

Rescue and re-home adoptable pets.

Sadly, we do get dogs and cats that have emergency medical needs, from either abuse or neglect. We are needing to raise money for two dogs that have emergency medical needs.  Here are their stories:

Marverik, a chihuahua mix, was thrown from a car window on a major road, the car was traveling at about 45-50mph.  A Good Samartian saw this as it happened and immediately pulled over and ran into traffic, risking her life to save him.  They rushed him to the Vet, who happened to be across the street.  The Vet was unsure if he would make it through the night. Maverik is a real trooper and he did survive.  He had surgery to fix his dislocated jaw and his broken hips the very next day.  He got his name, Maverik, because he landed in front of the Maverik Gas Station.

Little Orphan Annie, or just Annie for short, was brought to our rescue in a towel.  Annie is a terrier mix. She got away from her owner and was hit by a car.  A concerned neighbor brought her to us, and we rushed her off to the vet.  The other option, bringing her to the pound and having her put to sleep, was just too horrible for us to consider.  Annie had a broken leg that required pins and plates to repair.  We have placed advertisements and posted signs, but her owners have not come forward.

Ivan is a chihuahua mix.  Ivan came from the home of a hoarder.  He was starved and full of parasites.  He was also barely able to walk, because of a genetic disorder that caused his knees to be crooked.  Though fully formed his knees were sideways.  His surgery has been able to correct the disorder and he is just like any other dog, except maybe a little more appreciative of his new loving family.

Both of these dogs have huge vet bills.  Both have now healed from their surgeries and are in the process of being adopted.  Both medical bills have come due.  And our rescue is unable to come up with the extra, unepected funds.  We do have a budget for daily expenses, like food, leashes, neuters, vaccinations, etc.  But these two surgeries, being so close together, and also being much more expensive than the average pup.  Normally, we spend about $175 per dog and $100 per cat and adopt them out for only $150 for a dog and $75 for a cat.  We run a thrift store to help make up the difference.  But, again, it's more than we can come up with.

Any help, of any donomination, will help us with our Medical Fund.  Sadly, these will not be the only companion animals that need our help, so we are trying to set up a special Medical Fund for these emergencies.  Our goal is to have $20,000 in the bank, for emergency medial care.  This fund may also be used for helping the poor with their medical costs; helping those who have a love for animals, but may not be able to afford vaccinations, neutering or emergency care.

We are a 501 c (3) Federal Tax deductable.
